Nannie's peanut butter fudge

Mike's grandmother used to make this every year at Christmas time. I think it is the BEST peanut butter fudge!! Nannie passed away several years ago, but I think of her often, especially at Christmas time when I start craving some of her fudge! I'm so glad she shared the recipe with me. :)

2 c. sugar

1/8 t. salt

3/4 c. evaporated milk or whipping cream

2 T. corn syrup

4 T. peanut butter

1 t. vanilla

Mix everything together except peanut butter and vanilla in a heavy pan.Cook to a softball stage.(235-245 and forms a ball when dropped in cold water, but flattens when removed from water). Add peanut butter and vanilla. Beat with wooden spoon and pour into buttered pan to set.
